Patent Safety Brake Technology
Every elevator is protected from "overspeed" by a patented multi-disc safety brake.
Located on the car
- Totally automatic safety device
- Pinion mates with the tower rack and operates independently of the elevator’s brake system
- At a preset speed, centrifugal force engages the overspeed brake discs bringing the car to a smooth and immediate stop.
- Reset by simply driving the elevator in the up direction.
- No special tools are required.
